The Rutland County R/C Flyers club is centered in Rutland Vermont, and is open to anyone interested in remote control aircraft. The club currently has members with interests in sport, giant scale, acrobatic and 3D r/c airplanes powered by Nitro, Gas and electric power systems. We also have a strong group of heli pilots flying all size helis.



Want to learn how to fly? Great! Our club’s mission is to get new folks flying and we’re all here to help you learn how to get up in the air and down again safely. Flying lessons are conducted by several members of the club. You must make arrangements ahead of time. The club will supply all necessary equipment and a plane for instructional purposes. If you want to learn to fly your own plane or helicopter, we will be happy to help you check it out and set it up so that it is airworthy. Please contact Brian Reed for more information.

12/20/2011 AMA names RCFlyers A Gold Leader Club

Here's the plaque that was sent to club member Dave Dress to officially name us as a Gold Leader Club. Gold Leader Club is the AMA's highest club designation and is awarded to clubs that have a full range of aeromodeling services and activities available to their members and the community.


9/11/2011—The flood relief efforts continue in Vermont, but the National Guard helicopters no longer need the field for their staging operation, so it's repair day. A great group of cub members turned out to repair the field and we're happy to report that the field is open again to flying. Common sense prevails, so please be mindful of those repairs and don't mess them up! Check out the pictures at the end of the 2011 gallery.



9/1/2001—The National Guard is now using our flying field in Fair Haven as a staging area for Hurricane Irene relief support. We're not sure when we'll be able to get back there to fly, but for now it looks like we're in a holding pattern. Club members will be notified when the field reopens.
